I've started images for 'The Planets' book.
- Islands by Brendan Monroe It's a beautifully printed graphic novel, where the main character travels through space. Definitely caught my attention!
- Cardigan heart by Lizzy Stewart I've been a big fan of Lizzy Stewart's work for years, but I've never actually bought anything of hers. When I went to Pick Me Up this week, I flicked through her new book 'Cardigan Heart' and loved it so much, bought it on the spot.
- Portraits of Grandpa by a collection of illustrators, I found out about the book through Hilda Grahnat 9 people talk and illustrate descriptions of their grandpa. It's such a lovely touching book and it makes my think of my grandpa.
My illustration for the 50 Blog Tour focuses on my favourite characters in the book, Meg and Mrs Who, Mrs Which and Mrs Whatsit. Including an ant demonstrating travelling through the 5th Dimension and the main purpose of the story, to rescue Meg's father from the dark planet Camazotz.
I read A Wrinkle in Time as a young teenager and have loved it ever since. During my illustration degree I created a small book called 'Tesseracting' based on the tesseracting theory described in a Wrinkle in Time.

Recently while browsing through greeting cards in a card shop I noticed how
samey and cliché the cards were. I particularly couldn't find a good 'Get Well
Soon' card. So I thought I'd design some myself.
Years ago I bought a postcard (last photograph) from a vintage shop in
Brighton, since then it’s always been placed above my desk, and every time I
look at it, it makes me smile. I love the words ‘Keep Your Chin Up and Smile’
they are good, encouraging words.
I’ve used these words for my card designs, making three different designs I
couldn’t decide on one, and created all three.
